I was after a Nexus 7 but as the new version was coming out I decided to wait a couple of months to get the latest.
It was released yesterday on Google Play Japan store BUT..... the price!
27,800 !!!!!!!
Do I want to pay that much for a glorified reader?
An iPad mini only costs a little more.
Actually almost the same price difference between Nexus 7 2012 and the latest about ￥5,000

Henry ford designed the Model T to bring transportation to the masses.
A car at an affordable price although with some limitations. ( You can have any colour you want as long as it's black). The nexus 7 filled the same niche. But now with the price increase I doubt if it will be the "taker over the world" that the original was.
I believe that this will be a dud for Google unless the price comes down to near the original or at the most ￥21,000.
Also within just a couple of weeks some problems are surfacing with the touch screen as well as the keyboard input.
I for one am looking for something a bit more affordable, which I am sure will be available soon, as other companies jump on this price increase.
Sorry Google, your new Nexus 7 is not for me, not at that price
